Important Disclaimers
Effective date: August 20, 2026
This page is part of the Terms of Use and should be read with it and with the Privacy Policy. It is written plainly on purpose. It tells you what HELIOS Vault is, what it is not, and where the risk sits.
1. HELIOS acts. It does not merely answer.
HELIOS Vault is an autonomous AI system that runs on your computer, with your permissions. When you ask for something, the crew can create, edit, move, reorganise and delete files, run commands, install and run components, open applications, read and write your calendar, tasks and messages, reach services you have connected, and spend money at services that charge for use.
That power is the product. It is also the risk. Keep current, tested backups of your Vault and of anything else HELIOS can reach. Review consequential or irreversible work before you rely on it. If an instruction could be misheard or misread as something broader than you meant, assume one day it will be.
2. AI output can be wrong.
The crew runs on large language models. They are non-deterministic, they can be confidently incorrect, they can invent facts, citations, figures, names and quotations, and they can miss things that matter. The same question can produce different answers. Speech recognition can mishear a word, and one wrong word can change an instruction.
Verify anything you are going to act on, publish, file, send, sign or spend money on. Treat the crew as a capable assistant whose work you check, not as an authority.
3. Nothing here is professional advice.
HELIOS Vault does not provide legal, financial, investment, tax, accounting, medical, psychological, engineering, or other professional advice, and using it creates no professional relationship of any kind.
If you ask the crew about markets, taxes, bookkeeping, contracts, health, or anything else in a regulated field, what comes back is information, not advice, it is not personalised to your circumstances, and it is not a substitute for a licensed professional who is accountable to you. Nothing in the Service is an offer, solicitation or recommendation to buy or sell any financial instrument. Past performance of anything discussed is not indicative of future results. In an emergency, contact emergency services, not your assistant.
4. HELIOS depends on services we do not control.
HELIOS is a bring your own account product. It has no AI engine of its own. It runs on your subscriptions and accounts: Claude or ChatGPT for thinking, and optionally Deepgram for hearing and ElevenLabs for speaking, plus anything else you connect.
Those companies set their own prices, plans, rate limits, models, terms and policies, and can change any of them at any time, without notice to us. When they do, features of HELIOS may slow down, change or stop working. We cannot guarantee that HELIOS will keep working with any third-party service, and a change on their side is not a defect on ours.
Usage-based services bill you directly for what you use. We do not control, monitor, cap or reimburse those charges. Set spending limits and alerts with each provider. Any price we quote for a third-party service is approximate, is for orientation only, and can change on their side.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Anthropic, OpenAI, Deepgram, ElevenLabs, Dropbox, Microsoft, Google or any other provider. Their names are used descriptively so that you know exactly what you are running. Some links to providers may be affiliate links from which we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you, which never affects what we recommend.
5. What "your files stay on your machine" means, and what it does not
It means we do not host your files, and that in ordinary use we never receive your Vault, your recordings, your prompts or your AI conversations. We do not train on anything of yours, ever. Your Vault is plain files in your own storage, and Your Content stays readable and yours whether or not your subscription is active.
Here is everything the application sends us, in full. Once a day it checks that your licence is valid, and that check carries your licence, a one-way device fingerprint, the version number you are running and the time of the check. It also looks for a new version, which tells our update service which version you are running and, as any download does, discloses your IP address to the service delivering the file. Crash reports are off unless you switch them on, and when they are on you see the contents of a report before it sends. Diagnostic logs are never sent automatically. If you want help with a problem, you run a command that packages one yourself, and you decide whether to send it.
Know what is in a log before you send one: it contains your conversation with HELIOS, what you said and what he replied, and it may include file names, paths and the contents of any notes he read aloud. It never contains your API keys. Read it first, and if you would rather not send it, do not. Nothing in it is used to train anything, and we delete it once your problem is resolved.
That is the complete list of what ever reaches us. There is no analytics library in the application and no record of which features you use.
It does not mean nothing leaves your computer. An AI assistant has to send your request, and the material relevant to it, to an AI provider. With HELIOS that goes directly from your machine to your own account with that provider, rather than through us. What that provider then does with it is governed by your agreement with them, so read it, and switch off any training option they offer.
Security is never absolute. We apply real safeguards, including inspecting components before they join your system and restricting what untrusted input can cause the Software to do. They reduce risk. They do not eliminate it. Content the crew reads from the web, from documents or from email may contain instructions designed to subvert an AI agent; this is an unsolved problem across the whole industry, and it is a reason to keep untrusted material at arm's length and to keep reviewing consequential actions.
6. Microphone, voices and the people around you
HELIOS listens when it is awake. It can also learn a voiceprint, a numerical fingerprint of your voice, so that it responds to you and not to the television. That feature is off until you switch it on. If you switch it on, the voiceprint is built and kept on your device and is never sent to us, and you can erase it at any time.
A microphone hears everyone in the room. Consent is your responsibility. Many places require the consent of everyone recorded or identified, including the two-party consent states such as California, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania and Washington, and most of Canada. Some regulate voice biometrics specifically, including Illinois, Texas and Washington. Do not run HELIOS where people have not agreed to it, and do not use it to identify anyone without their consent. Do not use the Service to clone or imitate a real person's voice without their permission.
7. Results, examples and forward-looking statements
Demonstrations, screenshots, videos, sample outputs and testimonials show what the product has done in particular circumstances. They are illustrative. They are not a promise of what it will do for you, and no specific outcome, saving, productivity gain or financial result is guaranteed. Where a testimonial comes from someone who received free or discounted access, we say so.
Statements about future features, roadmap, pricing or availability are current intentions, not commitments, and can change.
8. Beta software
During any beta, pre-release or early access period, HELIOS is incomplete and provided as-is, free of charge, with no service levels and no support commitment. It can fail, behave unpredictably, lose data, change without notice or be discontinued. Do not use it for anything you cannot afford to lose, and keep independent backups.
9. Where HELIOS is available
HELIOS Vault is currently offered in the United States and Canada only. We do not sell it in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, and we decline signups and payments from those regions. We intend to open in Europe later, and we will say so plainly when we do.
10. Your responsibility for how you use it
You decide what goes into your Vault and what you ask the crew to do. If your work involves other people's personal information, client confidences, health or financial records, or anything regulated, it is your responsibility to confirm that using HELIOS with that material is lawful and permitted for you. You are responsible for complying with the terms of every service you connect, and with the law where you are.
11. Legal effect
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, and our liability is limited as set out in Section 18 of the Terms of Use. If you are in the United States, Section 21 of the Terms requires most disputes to be resolved by individual arbitration and waives class actions, and it gives you 30 days to opt out. If you are a consumer, you keep every right your local consumer protection law gives you, and nothing on this page takes those rights away.
